John Scott Black, 53, an 11-year Nevada resident, died Sept. 7, 2001, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center-Reno. He was born Nov. 20, 1947 to Adrian and Dora Golf Black in Stockton, Calif.
Mr. Black lived in Dayton for the past year coming from Carson City where he lived for five years.
Mr. Black was a commercial maintenance worker for Wal-Mart. He was a member of E. Clampus Vitus since 1998 and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his daughter, Shauna Black, of Portland, Ore.; a sister Doris Kanter, of Gardnerville; brothers Jim Archer of Silver Springs, Tom Archer of Huntington Beach, Calif.; a nephew Alan Albright of Phoenix, Ariz. and friends Cody and Diane Swall of Dayton.
No services are scheduled.
Memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Veterans Affairs Convalescent Home, 1000 Locust St., Reno, Nev., 89502.
