Carson City firefighters spent two hours looking, but could not find a child reported to have been lowered into a storm drain Thursday night.

According to Parks Director Steve Kastens, a passing couple reported seeing two boys lower another boy into the storm drain at Roop and Washington streets.

However, no one was found after an extensive search of the drain, which parallels Washington Street from Richmond to Mills Park.

Firefighters donned breathing apparatus and examined the drains, which were up to 4 feet wide in places. Carson City firefighters had recently trained in "narrow space" rescues.
