A funeral for James Williard Brian, 80, of Gardnerville, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Gall Catholic Church.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at St. Galls.
Mr. Brian died Sept. 16, 2001, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born April 25, 1921, in Tulsa, Okla., to Floyd S. and Albertine Larrime Brian.
Before moving to this area, he lived in Concord, Calif., for 46 years.
Mr. Brian was a power engineer for DuPont Chemical Co. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Concord and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a Presbyterian.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was from a military family.
Among his survivors are his wife June of Gardnerville; sons William R. Rodgers of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, and James M. Brian of Woodstock, Vt.; daughters Suzanne Swindall of Concord and Linda O'Brien of Seal Beach, Calif.; brother Dale Brian of Helena, Mont.; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial park in Gardnerville.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
