Truus VanHarreveld, 97, a Carson City resident for the past 13 years, died April 16, 2002, in Carson City. She was born Oct. 28, 1904, in the Netherlands to Anthonie P. and Cornelia Fels Smits.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Duarte, Calif.
Mrs. VanHarreveld was a technical math advisor at Cal Tech for 20 years. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Anthonie in 1987.
Among her survivors are son Anthonie Jr. of Flagstaff, Ariz.; daughter Freida Ford of Carson City; sister Hannah Smits of the Netherlands; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
No service will be held.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
