Nina Margaritta Smith, 77, a Carson City resident for the past 31 years, died April 13, 2002, at her home. She was born July 27, 1924, in Anthony, Kan., to Clarence and Nina Mae Costa Nelson.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in San Diego, Calif.
She married Jesse Smith in 1951.
Mrs. Nelson worked as a customer service person in the casino business. She enjoyed gardening and making crafts.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse in 1990 and sister Madeline Beatrice Outheir in 1978 and Claudia Thrope in 1991.
Among her survivors are her daughter Sue Bird of Reno; sons Raymond and Randy, both of Carson City, and Roland of Reno; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be in Fairview, Okla. at a later date.
