Silver & Sage writer Jane Lehrman and Backyard Traveler columnist Richard Moreno will be among the authors at the fifth annual "Spring Afternoon With the Authors" from 2- 4 p.m. Sunday at the Carson Valley Museum and Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395 N. in Gardnerville.
Each year the event attracts many people who enjoy discussing writing with writers and getting autographed copies of their works.
Lehrman's work has been praised for its focus on rural American and specifically the joys and rewards of living in Carson Valley. Her prose brings people's lives into the minds and hearts of all her readers.
Moreno, known for his contributions to Nevada Magazine, continues searching for additions to "Roadside History of Nevada." June Broili brings her years of cooking knowledge to the gathering of authors as well as her new book, "Dr. Church. "
David Towell turns historical events and people into novels.
Norman Hoggatt, a researcher and writer of the wild West's Wyatt Earp, and George Williams' attention to Storey County's history of prostitution, political corruption and eventual cleanup contribute to the historical mosaic of Nevada. Richard Pugh explores Nevada's varied history through humor and his latest book on medicine, a subject he is versed in by virtue of his work in psychology.
The event includes light refreshments as well as an opportunity to see the exhibits in the museum after meeting the authors. For information, call the museum at 782-2555.
