The first Northern Nevada Computer
Show, a fundraiser for Disability Resources
and its NewToYou Computers program, is
scheduled Sept. 7 at the Reno-Sparks
Convention Center.
Several dozen companies ranging from
computer retailers to Internet service
providers will operate booths at the show.
Admission is $4, $3 for seniors and students
and free for children under 12 or for
people who donate a cell phone.
Proceeds benefit Sparks-based
Disability Resources, which provides job
development and other services for people
with disabilities. The nonprofit agency also
operates NewToYou computers, which
accepts donations of Pentium-based computers
and working peripherals, refurbishes
them and donates them to people with disabilities.
