100 YEARS AGO

It is time that Carson was moving in the matter of the inaugural ball to the new governor and members of the Legislature. The Mayor of this city, which is Mr. Will U. Mackey, should go ahead and select a committee of workers. When Governor Sadler came in his accession to the chair was by the sad death of his predecessor and there was no occasion for a ball.

70 YEARS AGO

Carson City High School basketball team went down to defeat at the hands of the university freshmen last night by a score of 21 to 15. Coach McElroy was well pleased.

50 YEARS AGO

Ready for Christmas is Rosemary Johnson, pictured, 5 1/2-year-old Stewart girl stricken with polio but now well on the way to full recovery. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Johnson and her entire medical care was borne by the Ormsby County Chapter of the National Infantile Paralysis Foundation.

20 YEARS AGO

Carson City Chamber of Commerce is to cut back as Carson City plans to provide $30,000 during the current fiscal year has been cut back to $15,000. They will no longer be able to publish the Board of Supervisors Agenda in the Nevada Appeal.

10 YEARS AGO

December issue of Nevada Magazine, now on the newsstands, has an eight-page catalog, "The Nevada Gift Shop."
