I hope you all have a happy new year. I am looking forward to a wonderful year ahead, as I hope all of you will find in 2003. Big thanks to everyone in the community who helped so many.
Thank you to local builder Syncon Homes for the large donation of Albertson's gift certificates for families in need of food during the holidays. One mother with three children cried when she received her gift cards.
I also need to thank all the people at Salvation Army for their dedication to helping families up until the last minute. They helped 50 families in two hours on Dec. 24. Salvation Army and the amazing businesses that helped them should feel very proud to have assisted parents who had no other services to turn to the day before Christmas. I would also like to thank Friends in Service Helping for the wonderful food baskets it distributed again this year to families truly in need. Both these organizations and all their individual supporters deserve a big thank you.
