A suspected drug dealer was arrested Sunday after a Carson City Sheriff's Department dog found 6 grams of methamphetamine hidden in the back seat of the car.
William Nelson Morgan, 21, unemployed from Carson City, was arrested at 11:05 p.m. Sunday at Curry and Long streets for suspicion of the following felonies: trafficking, possession of a controlled substance for sale and possession of methamphetamine.
According to the arrest report, officers stopped Morgan behind a gas station on Curry Street for "acting suspicious in a dark area at a late hour."
Morgan agreed to a vehicle search, the report states. As the narcotics detection dog, Tahoe, searched the interior of the vehicle, he alerted his handler to the middle of the backseat.
Deputy Brian Humphrey recovered three clear plastic wrappers with "a dirty white powdery substance in each that resembled methamphetamine," according to the report.
After being read his rights, Morgan allegedly admitted he was there to sell methamphetamine.
He was being held in the Carson City Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.
