Obituary Violet Marie Walker

Funeral services for Violet Marie Walker, 72, a Carson City resident for 30 years, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Walton's Chapel.

A reception in honor of the deceased will follow the service at the home of Violet's daughter, Cathy Austin and husband Randy.

Mrs. Walker died Jan. 9, 2002 in Carson City. She was born Feb. 22, 1929 in Revanden, Ark., to Charles and Frances Haddock Jines.

She received her cosmetologist license in 1951, married the same year and went on to raise three children while helping her husband in his business. A member of the First Baptist Church in Carson City, she played the guitar there and at local nursing homes.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Calvin in 1990.

Among her survivors are her son, Steve Walker of Virginia City; daughters Cathy Austin and Sherie Webber both of Carson City; grandchildren Mandy, Jonathon, Rachael and Camala; and great-grandchildren Emily, Patricia, Robert and Ray Ann Lynn.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
