A graveside service for Walter C. Moore, 87, a Carson City resident for the last three years, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Los Gatos Memorial Park in San Jose, Calif.
Mr. Moore died Jan. 22, 2002, at his home. He was born Jan. 22, 1915, to John and Minte Hamrick Moore.
His early life was spent in West Virginia. He later moved to the District of Columbia where he started work in an airline maintenance position.
He married his wife Retha Nov. 9, 1936, in Maryland.
In 1968, he moved to San Jose, Calif., and he continued his work as a maintenance foreman for United Airlines. After 35 years he retired from United Airlines and moved to Carson City.
He was preceded in death by his wife and a son Gary.
He is survived by his son Varney "Renee" Moore of Carson City and sister Ellen Yarema of Las Vegas, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
