Obituary: Agnes 'Agatha' Kain

A service of witness to the Resurrection for Agnes "Agatha" Kain, 91, a Carson City resident for the past 31 years, will be at 2 p.m. today at the First Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Kain died July 19, 2002, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born Feb. 17, 1911, in Galway, N.Y.

Mrs. Kain was a school teacher and principal for many years. She founded and led the Serving Others, Helping Others organization. She took her first motorcycle ride at age 90 behind her best friend Wade Robertson on his Harley Davidson. Her life was lived helping others.

She was married to the late band leader Paul Kain for more than 40 years.

Among her survivors are her sister Margaret Edgerton of Rochester, N.Y. and nephew Paul Seybert and wife Hilda of Ft. Wayne, Ind.

An inurnment service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Masonic Memorial Gardens, Reno.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
