OBITUARY Dorothy M. Kish

A memorial Mass for Dorothy M. Kish, 87, a Carson City resident for the past 11 years, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

A Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Kish died June 10, 2002. She was born March 21, 1915, in Steubenville, Ohio, to Edward W. and Anna Beil Maurer.

Mrs. Kish retired from the Los Angeles County Probation Department in 1984. She loved playing bridge and played three to four times weekly. She went on numerous local excursions to music festivals, she traveled all over the world on cruises and she made a pilgrimage to Rome and the Vatican.

She was also a homemaker. She was a Catholic and a member of St. Teresa of Avila. She was a very active member of the Carson City Senior Center and participated in several bridge and bingo clubs in Carson City. She was a member of Carson-Tahoe Hospital Auxiliary and performed volunteer work at the hospital. She was a member of the Republican Women's Association in Carson City.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter J. in 1984, son Gregory John in 1976 and brothers Edward Maurer in 1996 and John Maurer in 1978.

Among her survivors are her son Walter J. "Buck" of Las Vegas and daughters Pamela Wagner of Carson City, Nancy Sieloff of Fresno, Calif. ; a sister Analie Barrett of Coral Springs, Fla.; grandchildren Melodie Masterson of Carson City, Susan Jackson of Texas, Sheri Benjamins of Carson City, Jon Cote of Carson City, Kristy Kish of Denver, Colo., Mike Cook of Fresno, Calif., Shannon Bravo and Dotty Kish both of Las Vegas and nine great-grandchildren.

Inurnment will be at All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach, Calif.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
