A memorial service for Frances Meder Cooke, 95, a Carson City native, will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Bruce Kochsmeier officiating.
She died Oct. 27, 2002, in Reno. She was born July 1, 1907, in Carson City, to Frank Eastman and Caroline Tilden Cutts Meder.
She attended Carson City schools through high school and graduated from the Stanford School of Nursing.
She enjoyed family gardening and bird watching. She was a docent for the Nevada State Museum, a volunteer for Hospice and active in the First Presbyterian Church both in Carson City and in San Francisco.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Lester Meder and Jack Meder, husband Louis G. Cooke and son, Jack Lester Cooke.
Among her survivors are daughter-in-law Elinor Cooke Berger and her husband Robert of Carson City; grandchildren and their spouses Linda and Steven Baxter, Jack and Cheryl Cooke of Carson City and Netti and Mike DeBusk of Wellington and great-grandchildren Heather and Josh Grim, Jennifer Baxter, Michael Cooke, and Mikayla, Tanner and Jacob DeBusk and great-great-grandchild Caleb Grim.
Private burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Sanctuary Building Fund, 306 W. Musser St., Carson City NV 89703.
