Gov. Kenny Guinn has announced a series of appointments to three state boards.
He reappointed Edwin Homansky and Raymond "Skip" Avansino to new terms on the state Athletic Commission, saying both bring "a wealth of knowledge and experience" to the post.
The commission includes five members and is responsible for regulating boxing contests in Nevada.
Guinn reappointed three members to the state Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as well.
They are James Gardner of Gardner Mechanical Services in Reno, Todd Kenner, executive vice president of PBS&J in Henderson, and Dennis Anderson, senior design engineer at Harris and Associates in Las Vegas.
That board consists of seven members and regulates the engineering and land surveyor professions in Nevada.
Guinn also named Beth Rossum to the state Real Estate Commission.
She has been owner and broker at Rossum Realty in Las Vegas since 1988.
The five-member commission regulates the real estate profession in Nevada, including establishing standards for licensees and their offices. Rossum replaces Ronald Ruthe on the board.
