Reno-based Nichols Consulting
Engineers has completed four training
courses and a training manual for the
National Highway Institute, a training arm
of the Federal Highway Administration.
The programs are designed to help state
and local agencies build efficient roadways,
bike paths and walking paths.
The courses include:
* A program to teach local and state
government employees how to effectively
locate utility problems during the project
development stage for early attention.
* A program designed to train agency
staff to build integrated walking path
networks.
* A similar course on bicycle path networks.
* A course on erosion and sediment
control.
Nichols also provided the Federal
Highway Administration a manual on
avoiding utility relocations.
