Obituary for Beatrice Bradshaw DeHaven

A memorial service for Beatrice Bradshaw DeHaven, 63, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Walton Sierra Chapel, 875 W. Second St., Reno.

She died Oct. 27, 2002, at Washoe Medical Center. She was born Sept., 21, 1939, in Chico, Calif., to Elwood and Evelyn Bradshaw.

She lived in Carson City, Yerington and Reno since 1963.

She worked most of her career as an administrative assistant and was a volunteer for many years. She was an avid blood donor and softball was a passion of hers. She volunteered as gardener at the Ronald McDonald House. She was a 4-H leader for more than 20 years, a member of the Toastmasters and a volunteer through Junior Achievement.

She completed a master gardener course and was active in Theta Sigma Phi, Chapter Laureate XI and served as president of the Reno Sparks Council.

She was preceded in death by her father, husbands James DeHaven and LeRoy DeHaven and brother Floyd Bradshaw.

Among her survivors are: mother Evelyn Bantley and stepmother Shirley Bradshaw; son LeRoy "Lee" DeHaven of San Diego, Calif.; daughter Denise Stewart of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law Dawn and Pat Butler of Yerington; sisters Geraldine Becker of Hebo, Ore., and Laura Smith of Anderson, Calif.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
