Jack Trout, author of more than 30 books
and a consultant to major companies on market
positioning, will speak in Reno Oct. 18.
He is president of Trout & Partners, a
marketing firm with offices in the United
States and 13 other nations.The firm's clients
have included AT&T, IBM, Burger King,
Merrill Lynch, Xerox, Hewlett-Packard,
Proctor & Gamble and Southwest Airlines.
His books have included the 1980 bestseller,
"Positioning: The Battle for Your
Mind" written with his business partner, Al
Ries. They followed with "Marketing
Warfare" in 1985 and "The 22 Immutable
Laws of Marketing" in 1992.
Trout's 1995 sequel on positioning, "The
New Positioning," has been been translated
into 16 languages. His latest book, "Big
Brands Big Trouble," details the decline of
American corporate icons.

Trout will speak at a luncheon at the
Atlantis Resort Casino. Tickets are $50 if
purchased before Sept. 16, and $60 after that
