Meridian Gold says a proposed deal fell apart, and the Jerritt Canyon gold mine near Elko won't be sold to Queenstake Resources Ltd.

Reno-based Meridian and AngloGold jointly own the mine, which will produce about 300,000 ounces of gold this year.
