Sierra Pacific Resources last week awarded $42,000 to 15 northern Nevada non-profit agencies.
The grant money will be used to fund weatherization and energy efficient retrofit projects and help the agencies save more than $17,000 annually, according to the energy utility.
The agencies are from Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Virginia City and Elko.
The presentations were made by Sierra Pacific President Jeff Ceccarelli and Director of Energy Efficiency and Conservation Bob Balzar.
