Obituary: Lois C. 'Patty' Barton

Lois C. "Patty" Barton, 74, died April 17, 2003, at Carson Convalescent Hospital. She was born May 22, 1928, in Alameda, Calif., to Thomas J. and Essie Darwin Carmody.

She grew up in California.

She married Earl Stanton in 1948, Larry F. McMasters in 1956, John Charlesworth in 1966 and Calvin H. Barton in 1973. They divorced in 1995.

Mrs. Barton worked in supervisory positions at Bently Nevada. She and her husband moved to Orafino, Idaho, for a couple of years before purchasing a restaurant/gas pumps, known for its homemade cooking and freshly made pies, at Dodge Junction, Wash.. They then went to Denali National Forest, Alaska, and cooked for several seasons before moving to Anchorage and working in several positions. They returned to Nevada in 1997.

She enjoyed cooking, reading, camping, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Sarah "Tomi" Gonzales.

Among her survivors are her daughter, Shannon McMasters; son, Brian McMasters; grandchildren Ana Blanco and Adam Paramo, all of Gardnerville; several nieces and nephews; and special friends Jim and Janet Block of The Dalles, Ore., Lesa White of Hot Springs, Ark., Jim Block of Cottage Grove, Ore., and Cris Block of Boise, Idaho.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.
