Verla Rose, 88, a Carson City resident for the past 10 years, died Dec. 8, 2003, at home. She was born Aug. 7, 1915, in Garfield, Idaho, to Charles and Flora Apgood Jensen.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Lake San Marcos, Calif.
Mrs. Rose was a homemaker. She was interested in the genealogical society and volunteered at the Escondido Branch Genealogical Library for 20 years.
She had a summer home at Lake Tahoe and enjoyed golf and swimming in the lake.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 1992; daughter Jarelyn Kay Rose; and six brothers.
Among her survivors are her son, Robert of Estes Park, Colo.; daughters Sharon Welch and Carol Johnston, both of Carson City; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A private family graveside service will be held at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery in Hemet, Calif.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
