A funeral for Harold "Red" Moates, 82, a Carson City resident for the past five years, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mr. Moates died Dec. 13, 2003, in Carson City. He was born June 25, 1921, in San Jose, Calif., to Charles and Ellen White Moates.
Mr. Moates was a painting contractor for 27 years and later became involved in property management and real estate.
He served in the Merchant Marine for more than three years.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Alice Griffiths.
Among his survivors are his wife of 58 years, Maria; son and daughter-in-law Jeffery and Anne of Reno; son Allen of Klamath Falls, Ore.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
