Hometown Health, the health insurance arm of Washoe Health System, last week received one of the first annual Awards for Performance Excellence presented by Gov.
Kenny Guinn.
The award recognized the company providing the most comprehensive health benefits company in its market.
"Hometown Health takes pride in earning this recognition for excellence.
We are pleased to offer superior health benefits to our community and stand by our commitment to great service to all of our members," said Troy Smith, vice president, Hometown Health, in a prepared statement.
The Nevada Quality Alliance developed the APEX awards based on the criteria for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
Those criteria include an organization's performance in leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focus, information and analysis and human resource focus.
