Services are pending for Charles Louis Gomez, 57, of Carson City, who died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003.
Born to Louis Gomez and Eleanor Gouveia in Iowa City, Iowa, Sept. 12, 1945, he graduated from San Lorenzo High School in San Leandro, Calif., and attended Chabot College in Hayward, Calif. He attended jet mechanic and telecommunications school.
Mr. Gomez worked as a telecommunications technician for 35 years. He served for four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He lived in Carson City for 13 years, after moving from the Bay Area.
He was a member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association. He held offices in several rabbit organization and was a well-loved rabbit judge. He was an avid baseball card collector.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; parents of San Leandro; daughters Cassie Gomez of Carson City and Lynda Roubineau of Fallon; son, Chris Gomez of Carson City; granddaughter, Amanda Hackler, and grandsons Chris Graham and Richard DeMateo, all of Fallon; sisters Loretta Robinson of Hayward and Susan Madrigal of Albuquerque, N.M.; and grandmother, Mary Alderman of San Leandro.
