Two key dates for arriving at the end of the 120-day session have passed.
Feb. 10 was the last day legislators could request bills. The next day joint subcommittees for money, transportation and other committees began meeting to iron out differences in major bills.
Upcoming key legislative deadlines for the 2003 session are:
Feb. 24 -- Deadline for committees to request bills.
March 17 -- Deadline for legislators to introduce bills.
March 24 -- Deadline for committees to introduce bills.
April 1 -- Money committees start closing budgets.
April 11 -- Deadline for committee action in house of origin.
April 21 -- Deadline to pass legislation in house of origin.
May 1 -- Deadline for Economic Forum to set revenue forecasts.
May 16 -- Deadline for committee action in second house.
May 19 -- Deadline to resolve budget differences between the two houses.
May 23 -- Deadline to pass legislation in second house.
May 26 -- Budget bills introduced.
May 31 -- Conference reports to drafting.
June 2 -- Final day of 2003 Legislature.
