Chamber honors firms, individuals

The Sparks Chamber of Commerce honored people and companies who made a significant contribution to the community at its recent annual dinner.

Honored were:

* Charlene Borge, Conductor of the Year.

* Sparks Sanitation, Community Service Award

* Rail City Casino, Lifetime Achievement Award.

* Michonne Ascuaga, Member of the Year

* Sierra Pacific Power Co., Business of the Year.

* Frank Lawrence of Amy's Flowers, Citizen of the Year * Larma Volk, President's Award Also recognized were chairs of chamber committees in the past year.

Recognized were Carol Perrigo and Terry Boyden for the B.E.S.T.

Committee, Jim Helsel for the Boat Regatta Event, Nancy Muniz for the Business Committee, Philip Salerno for the Clean City Committee, Frank Lawrence for the Golf Tournament Committee, Adam Mayberry and Robert King for the Legislative Affairs Committee,Tom Burrous and Nancy Muniz for the Salads & Solutions Committee, Nancy Streets for the Scholarship Awards Committee, and Larma Volk for both the Star Spangled Sparks and Welcoming Committees.

Retiring directors Larry Lovejoy, Rand Tanner, and Mary Willett and outgoing President Linda Brown also were recognized.
