Area companies and organizations looking to unload the clutter of office paper can do so through NevadaMax, a material exchange network that facilitates the trade of reusable products and materials.

But what about paper? To unload unwanted paper, businesses can post it on the NevadaMax website, www.nevadamax.org and see if any other businesses and organizations would be find a use for it.

For example, Shred-It, a medical and financial document shredding company with an office in Reno, has used the site to offer its shredded paper for recycling.

However, according to Barbara Westcott, a sales representative for Shred-It, the company has yet to find any takers.

On the other hand,Westcott is still hopeful that some other business browsing the website will find a use for the paper.

In any event,Westcott is pleased to find a way to recycle the paper as opposed to disposing it as garbage.

"Anytime you can recycle the paper rather than just throwing it away, it is a good thing,"Westcott said.

After businesses have agreed for an office paper exchange, participating companies are responsible for the pickup or delivery of the product.
