An account has been set up with Bank of America to help motorcycle accident victim Rob Beveridge.

According to friend Kenneth Crompton, Beveridge underwent surgery on Tuesday and doctors hope to bring him out of an induced coma today.

"He's doing a lot better," Crompton said. "They kept delaying his surgery because they didn't want to risk his life."

Crompton was injured in a June 29 motorcycle accident between Woodfords and Markleeville.

He is the son of Dayton residents Robert and Linda Beveridge and a 1997 graduate of Carson High School.

Beveridge is a University of Nevada, Reno accounting student and a member of the Nevada Sportbike club.

He suffered severe head trauma, a broken jaw, broken ribs and broken vertebrae in the accident.
