Obituary: Joe Armstrong

A funeral for Joe Armstrong, 78, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Albertson's Funeral Home in Winnemucca.

A reception will follow at 633 Pavillion St.

Mr. Armstrong died July 15, 2003, after a lengthy illness. He was born Feb. 4, 1926.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Jane.

Mr. Armstrong was the majority owner of Armstrong Bros. Well Drilling in Winnemucca for 45 years. He served two governors on advisory and licensing boards and was instrumental in forming the Northern Nevada Dirt Track Association.

Among survivors are his children Danny of Carson City and Roger, Allen and Janet, all of Winnemucca; grandchildren Tyrel, Britton, Corde, Jessica and Tamara; great-grandchildren Paige and Dominic and sister Louise of Tupelo, Miss.
