Peter J. Hoffman, Jr., 83, a Dayton resident for the past two years, died July 28, 2003, in Dayton. He was born Oct. 23, 1919, in St. Marie, Ill., to Peter J. Hoffman Sr.
Before moving to Dayton, he lived in Sacramento, Calif.
Mr. Hoffman was active at the Dayton Senior Citizens Center. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed on the USS Mississippi as a shipfitter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly, in 1995 in Sacramento.
Among his survivors are his sonsDennis of Carson City, Donald of Nashville, Tenn., John of Dayton and James of Seattle; sister, Mildred Cramer of Hermiston, Ore.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
