Justin Edward Haddock, 86, a Carson City resident for the past 31 years, died May 28, 2003, in Carson City. He was born July 16, 1916, in Cassville, Mo., to James Luther and Ollie Wallen Haddock.
He attended Southern Oregon College in Ashland, Ore., received a bachelor of science degree from Oregon State University in Corvallis, Ore., in 1946; and an master of science degree in 1952 and a doctor of education in 1961, both from the University of Oregon in Eugene.
He married Eleanor Barth June 18, 1939, in Salem, Ore. She preceded him in death June 24, 1999, at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Eugene, Corvallis, LaGrande and Salem, Ore.
Mr. Haddock was an elementary principal, a college professor and state director of elementary education in Oregon. For the last 13 years of his career, he was a consultant for the Nevada State Department of Education in Carson City. He was president of the Oregon State Elementary Principal's Association in 1956.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a World War II veteran.
Among his survivors are his daughter, Carol Davison of Berkeley, Calif.; sons Richard of LaGrande and Kevin of Reno; granddaughters Eve Davison of Boston and Christine Harpel of Covina, Calif.; grandsons Chad Haddock of Portland and Asher Davison of Berkeley; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, mostly in Missouri.
A private service and burial were held at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels of Carson City.
