Reno-based Employers Insurance Company of Nevada last week said its wholly owned subsidiary, Fremont Employers Insurance Co., is unaffected by the California Department of Insurance decision to take into conservancy the separate business entity of Fremont Indemnity Co.
In July 2002, Employers Insurance purchased the Fremont Employers Insurance ongoing book of business.
Employers Insurance then formed a new company, Fremont Employers Insurance Co.
The new company assumed the renewal rights to the Fremont Employers Insurance book of business and also began writing new business.
The California Department of Insurance agreed that the new company wasn't affected by the conservancy order.
