Obituary: Willard Harden

A graveside service for Willard W. Harden, 89, a Carson City resident for the past eight months, will be at 11 a.m. today at Lone Mountain Cemetery.

Mr. Harden died June 10, 2003, in Carson City. He was born Sept. 27, 1913, in Peoria, Ill., to John Manning and Iva Wainwright Harden.

He married Marion Hampson on June 14, 1941, in La Crescenta, Calif.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in El Segundo, Calif., for 50 years

Mr. Harden was a biology teacher at El Segundo High School for 37 years. He enjoyed carpentry, golf and bowling.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne.

Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; daughters Dorothy Wadlow of Mystic, Conn., and Kathryn Honse of Tahoe City; and four grandchildren.
