The Frank Cooley company will present to the people of Carson, "A Daughter of Dixie." It is the only play where a colored man is introduced and the colored man brings forth a laugh every time he presents himself on stage. Prices 15 cents, 25 cents and 35 cents.

70 YEARS AGO

Lions Club elect Norman C. Brown as president and hear Mrs. Ruby Fitzgerald, principal of the Kawailoa Training School for Girls in Honolulu. She is a sister of Miss Ada Pointer of Carson and formerly taught at Goldfield.

50 YEARS AGO

Grahame Hardy, proprietor of the Country Store and publisher of many books on railroads and Western America, has just published a pictorial "Carson City Guide." The 48-page booklet has a complete listing of all stores of interest in Carson. Photos are by Gus Bundy of Washoe Valley and from the Nevada State Museum.

20 YEARS AGO

Gov. Richard Bryan joined the installation of Warren Engine Co. No. 1 volunteer officers, an event shortened by a 1,000-acre fire in Storey and Lyon counties. Paul Webster begins his fourth term as president.

10 YEARS AGO

Dale C. Wetenkamp, publisher of the Nevada Appeal, has been named chairman of the Professional Advisory Board for the Donald W. Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno. It advises about areas of training.
