Scolari's Food and Drug Co.
this week plans to break ground on a new store in Reno.
The new 45,600-square-foot superstore will be located at Sharlands Avenue off the Robb Dr.
exit of Interstate 80.
The grocer hopes to complete construction by March 2004.
The building was designed by Sheehan-Van Woert-Bigotti and Jeff Codega Planning & Design Inc., and is being built by Q&D Construction, all of Reno.
"We are very excited about this project and look forward to providing our customers in northwest Reno the very best service and value," said Joey Scolari, chief executive officer of the Sparks-based company, in a prepared statement.
"We have looked at this part of town for some time, and feel now the time is right to expand."
The store will include a bakery, deli, floral department, fresh seafood and a pharmacy.
