Tony Jensen, previously general manager for Placer Dome's Cortez Mine 60 miles southwest of Elko, has been named president and chief operating officer of Denver-based Royal Gold.
Jensen has been a member of the Nevada Mining Association executive committee and board since 1999 and served as chairman of the Reno-based association from 2001 to 2002.
