An off-road motorcycle racer was found uninjured late Saturday night after a five-hour search that included a helicopter.
Kelly Williams, 42, was participating in an off-road race from Wellington to Hawthorne when he failed to cross the finish line. The Lyon County Sheriff's Department was called at 6:30 p.m.,. and Williams was found at 11:35 p.m.
Lyon and Mineral counties both dispatched search-and-rescue divisions. Williams had last been seen around 2 p.m. in the Pine Grove Mountains wearing black-and-silver riding gear and a pink chest protector.
Joining the search was the Washoe County Sheriff's Department RAVEN helicopter. The Lyon County Amateur Radio group helped with communications. About 30 search personnel used several four-wheel-drive vehicles and three quads in their search.
Lyon County search-and-rescue personnel took Williams to Yerington.
