Friends of Vic Clementi will hold a spaghetti dinner fund-raiser for the transplant recipient on Saturday.
Clementi's double transplant was successful, and he is doing very well, according to family friend Ellie Stillings.
"The organs he received were good, young, healthy ones," she said. "They are trying to bulk him up. He lost all his muscle tone. He's looking forward to coming home."
Kim and Ginny Clementi are expected to attend the dinner, Stillings said.
"They will be driving in Friday and leaving Sunday," she said. "The only thing that will keep them there will be if something happens with Vic."
Clementi, 51, received a new liver and kidney during a 14-hour surgery that ended on June 5.
Clementi worked on the 1998-99 remodel of the Governor's Mansion. He found out last summer he has hepatitis C. At the time, he weighed 226 pounds. When he went in to surgery three weeks ago, he weighed 138 1/2 pounds, his wife said.
A bank account has been set up in Clementi's name at Bank of America. The account number is 004966550823.
