A thick stench of marijuana filled a West Carson City neighborhood after drug officers discovered 30 pot plants in a home.
John Cox, 49, was arrested about 6 p.m. Thursday on suspicion of felony sales of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
Officers from the Tri-Net Narcotics Task Force obtained a search warrant for the home at 1110 Patton St., at the foot of C Hill, during an investigation, said investigator Rory Planeta.
According to Planeta, two rooms in the home were filled with plants and growing equipment, and the windows were covered in foil.
"The rooms were set up for various stages of growing," said Detective Sgt. Mitch Pier.
The street value of the marijuana was estimated at $37,000. "And that's conservative," he said.
Planeta said in addition to the rooms, plants were found throughout the house, some drying. "They were everywhere," he said.
Cox's bail is set at $16,105.
