University of Nevada, Reno, has dedicated a high-tech room designed to help business students learn how to use the latest technology.
The room was renovated over two years and funded by Wells Fargo Bank of Nevada, which donated $85,000, and the university's Teaching and Learning Technologies, which supplied $62,000 through student technology fees.
The room seats 92 students and contains 30 laptop computers and accessories, all connected via wireless network, as well as two fully-equipped Dell Computer Corp.
Optiplex computers.
Web cameras and headsets let students use the room to videoconference via the Internet.
The room also includes two projection screens and video projectors.
"It's the tech room on campus," said Mike Reed, dean of UNR's College of Business Administration, in a prepared statement.
Room 102 is located in the Ansari Business Building.
