Obituary: Virginia J. Budny

A funeral for St. Paul's Retirement Center resident Virginia J. Budny, 86, formerly of Irish Hills, Ind., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at St. Joseph Funeral Home with a rosary at 7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Budny died May 13, 2003. She was born June 20, 1916, in South Bend, Ind., to Julian and Theresa Grzegorek Strychalski.

She retired in 1975 from Bendix. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.

Mrs. Budny was married to Benedict V. Glon from 1930 until his death in 1953. She married Bill Budny in 1960; he died in 1976. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Clem, Stanley, Lenny, Angie, Irene and Rosemary.

Among her survivors are her son and daughter-in-law Patrick L. and Linda Glon, of West Lafayette, Ind.; son James L. Glon of Carson City; stepdaughter and husband, Jackie and William Mainord of Granberry, Texas; stepsons and their wives Billy C. "Skip" and Kay Budny of Indianapolis, and Rick and Linda Budny of Niles, Mich.; eight grandchildren; sisters Loretta Miller of Lakeville, Ind., and Hilde Turner, of South Bend; and brothers Bernie, Stan, Ted and Ray Strychalski, all of South Bend.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
