Nevada State Bank is scheduled to open its 18th northern Nevada branch, a 10,500-square-foot new building at 190 Damonte Ranch Parkway, in mid- November.

Along with a firstfloor branch bank, the second floor of the building includes training rooms and offices for the northern region of Nevada State Bank's human relations department.

The branch staff will include five full-time and two part-time employees.

David Hernandez, vice president for property management of Nevada State Bank, said the training rooms include teleconferencing facilities as well as wireless electronics to allow teachers to roam throughout the classrooms.

A room dedicated to teller training includes a full-scale mockup of a teller line accurate down to the decorative metal panels that are an architectural signature of Nevada State Bank branches throughout the state.

Hernandez said the south-Reno branch is the first in the company to feature a 42-inch plasma screen display on a wall behind its teller line.

The screen will display interest rate information, marketing messages and the like.

The facility also includes three drive-up lanes, including a drive-up teller lane.

The branch marks Nevada State Bank's deepest foray into the fast-growing neighborhoods of south Reno.

The bank's branch on McCarran Boulevard near Meadowood Mall currently is its southernmost location.
