A memorial service for James Albert Matthews, 79, a Carson City resident for the past 39 years, will be at noon Monday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mr. Matthews died Nov. 4, 2003, in Carson City.
He was born June 5, 1924, in Modesto, Calif., to Albert and Gyneth Orbis Matthews.
He graduated from high school in Placerville, Calif.
He married Josephine Anderson.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Placerville for many years.
Mr. Matthews was a logging truck driver.
Among his survivors are his wife and daughters Angela Hoefling and Dawn Ann Troncale, all of Carson City; sister Lou Logoluso of California; brothers Norman of Carson City, Marty of Alaska and Donnie and Bob, both of California and grandson Zachary Hoefling of Carson City.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Carson City Chapter for Abused Women.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
