Larma Volk, a retired justice of the peace in Sparks, has been appointed to Northern Nevada Medical Center's board of governors Volk, a native of Gabbs, served as Sparks justice of the peace for 14 years before retiring in 2001.
She was commissioned as a senior judge by the Nevada Supreme Court in 2001.
She was a court administrator for 10 years before assuming her judgeship.
Volk serves on the board of the Sparks Chamber of Commerce as vice-president of marketing.
She is on the Sparks Heritage Museum board and is a past president of the Sparks Traffic Survival School Board.
She is a member of the Nevada Homeland Security Commission, Sparks Centennial Commission and Sparks Citizen Advisory Committee.
