Marie Dover, 81, of Spray, Ore., died Nov. 29, 2003, at home. She was born Jan. 28, 1922, in Pittsburgh to John and Magdalena Spangler Schmelts.
She attended school in Pittsburgh, graduating in 1940. After graduation, she joined the U.S. Army on Aug. 15, 1943, and was honorably discharged May 24, 1944. She then attended cosmetology college in Lawton, Okla., and worked there as a beautician for several years.
She lived in Silver Springs for 26 years from 1978 to 2003 before moving to Spray.
Mrs. Dover was involved with the senior center in Silver Springs as a past volunteer and was nominated Ms. Silver Springs Senior in 1991.
Among her survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Clayton Myers of Mitchell (Spray), Ore.; grandchildren Blaine and wife Sandra Myers, Garret Myers, Lori Myers, Clayton and wife Debbie Myers, and Chris Myers; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and the love of her life, Sylvester Kelley of Silver Springs.
Prineville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
