A Reno development that combines work and living spaces is finding success with tenants.
The first 8,000-square-foot building at Redfield Suites was 90 percent leased as construction wrapped up this month.
The second building, which is expected for completion in November, is half leased.
The project is at Redfield Parkway and Baker, just north of the Sam's Club on Kietzke Lane.
It's zoned for as many as eight buildings.
Developer John Masquelier of Reno said tenants in the first building including Northern Nevada Day Spa along with DT Workforce, a search firm for the mining industry based in Perth, Australia.
The building also includes six executive suites.
An employee benefits company has leased space in the second building, along with a photography and marketing firm.
Masquelier said the developers of the project are especially interested in attracting a sandwich, ice cream and gourmet coffee shop to the project.
Redfield Suites is available either as offices or apartment units, and it targets markets include business people who want to live upstairs from their work and entrepreneurs who don't want to open their homes for business.
The zoning on the property allows the developers flexibility in the leasing.
Redfield Suites can be leased entirely as offices; alternatively, as much as 75 percent of the project can be leased as residential.
Because office uses require more parking than residential, Masquelier said it's likely the project ultimately will include only seven two-story units rather than the eight that are authorized.
Office leasing on the project is handled by Katie Morrison of Commercial Properties of Nevada.
