Arthur R . Bermudez

A funeral for Arthur R. Bermudez, 82, a Gardnerville resident for the past five years, will be at 1 p.m. today at FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville.

Mr. Bermudez died Sept. 10, 2003, at Carson Valley Medical Center. He was born March 12, 1921, in Los Angeles, to Arthur and Rachel Rojas Bermudez.

Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Glendora, Calif.

Mr. Bermudez was a marketing manager for Southern California Gas Co. He was a member of the Rotary Club and the Lions Club, both in California. He was very involved in the Boy Scouts for many years and held many positions in the scouting organization. He loved swimming and he was a state champion in swimming in high school.

Among his survivors are his wife Virginia of Gardnerville; sons Arthur J. of Carson City and Jerry of Seattle, Wash.; sister Rowena Morris of San Diego, Calif. and grandchildren Ben and Cassie.

Burial will be at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.
