Motorcycle rider puts head through window in front of Cactus Jack's

A motorcyclist was taken by Care Flight helicopter to Washoe Medical Center in Reno Saturday afternoon after he allegedly sped into the side of a Jeep on Carson Street, according to Carson City Sheriff's Deputy Brian Mays.

The man's name will not be released until his family is notified, according to Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Don Dunmore.

The man received several cuts on his face and neck when his head went through a side window on the Jeep. His blue Buell motorcycle had California license plates.

According to witnesses on the scene, he had just turned off Robinson Street and headed south on Carson where he almost hit another car. He swerved around it and accelerated directly into the Jeep, which was turning onto Spear Street near Cactus Jack's Casino.

Tina Glesener of Silver Springs was setting up for a street dance at 3 p.m. in the Carson Nugget parking lot when she heard the impact. She told her friend to call 911 then helped perform first aid on the rider.

"It wasn't her fault," Glesener said of the driver of the Jeep, whose name was not released.

"She had already started her turn when he gunned it. She was in her turn. He was hot-dogging it and he T-boned her."

The man did not lose consciousness but was bleeding severely from the mouth, face and neck, she said.

Glesener removed his half-shell helmet and sunglasses, she said.

"I wanted to be able to see his eyes and keep him talking."

As rescue workers from the Carson City Fire Department loaded him onto a stretcher, the man clasped his hands on his belly and talked with them.

He was taken by ambulance to Carson-Tahoe Hospital where a Care Flight helicopter picked him up for transport to Reno.

His bike, with the gas tank knocked off, was loaded on a Valley Towing flatbed truck and removed from the scene. Southbound traffic on Highway 395 was diverted for about an hour.

Dunmore said he wouldn't know if any charges will be filed until he completed his investigation.
